Small Works Estimator
London & South East (Primarily within the M25) £50,000–£60,000 + Benefits Permanent | Full-Time | Monday–Friday (8:00am–5:00pm)
Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in Commercial Building Services, Facilities Management or Construction?
We are looking for a technically minded and commercially aware Small Works Estimator to join a growing projects team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering reactive maintenance, refurbishment and small works projects across a diverse commercial property portfolio.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, identifying remedial works and producing accurate, competitive quotations for a wide range of commercial building services projects.
Working closely with engineers, suppliers and operational teams, you will act as the technical link between clients and project delivery, ensuring enquiries are progressed efficiently from survey through to quotation and, where successful, project completion.
This is primarily an estimating role, with some involvement in supporting the coordination of awarded works.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys and identify remedial works.
- Produce accurate quotations for reactive maintenance, refurbishments and small works.
- Prepare labour estimates, material take-offs and subcontractor enquiries.
- Obtain supplier pricing and ensure commercially competitive quotations.
- Provide technical support to clients, engineers and operational teams.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support the delivery of awarded works, including ordering materials and coordinating subcontractors.
- Maintain quotation records and meet client deadlines.

- CAT A & CAT B fit-outs
- Reactive maintenance and planned refurbishment projects
What We're Looking For
- Previous estimating experience within Building Services, Facilities Management or Construction.
- Experience carrying out site surveys and producing quotations.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial M&E and/or building fabric.
- Excellent commercial awareness and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- HNC/HND, City & Guilds or NVQ in a relevant discipline.
- IOSH, SMSTS/SSSTS or CSCS.
- Experience using CAFM systems.
