Job Title - Project Planner

Salary up to Β£35,000
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Project Planner to support the successful planning and delivery of electronic security systems projects.
Working closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Planners and the wider operations team, you will help coordinate projects from initial handover through to completion and final handover to service.
This is a varied role requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate electronic security systems projects from order through to completion.
- Support Project Managers with project planning, delivery and handover activities.
- Manage the subcontractor tender and procurement process, including obtaining pricing and coordinating services.
- Build and maintain project documentation and project packs.
- Maintain project trackers, order logs and key project information.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered on time and cost-effectively.
- Identify and escalate potential risks relating to project margins, costs, programme dates and delivery.
- Coordinate the handover of projects from Sales to Projects and from Projects to Service.
- Ensure all relevant project documentation is completed and passed to the appropriate teams.
- Coordinate regular project meetings with Project Managers and Planners.
- Monitor and record project variations, ensuring they are accurately captured and reflected in cost analysis.
- Maintain live project key dates, project schedules and project checklists.
- Complete and update monthly project cost analysis.
- Work with Project Managers to forecast costs to completion and identify potential margin erosion.
- Prepare subcontractor contracts and submit them for approval.
- Coordinate and track training requirements, visas, residency and relevant country compliance requirements.
- Support Project Managers with monthly invoicing forecasts.
- Assist the finance team by identifying payment delays and potential issues affecting project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure company processes and procedures are followed.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in project administration, project planning, project coordination or a similar role.
- Experience within an engineering, construction, electronic security or technical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with suppliers, subcontractors, Project Managers and internal teams.
- Good understanding of project costs, timescales and commercial implications.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using MS Project would be advantageous.
- Experience using CRM or project management systems.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of tasks.
- A results-focused approach with an understanding of both financial and project delivery targets.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a highly organised and commercially aware individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment.
You should be comfortable managing multiple workstreams, maintaining accurate project information and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience within electronic security, engineering or construction would be beneficial, but candidates with strong project administration or planning experience from other technical environments will also be considered.
