Overall purpose of role: To lead and deliver strategic sourcing and end‑to‑end supply chain operations at the MPT Evesham site, ensuring high service levels, cost efficiency, and operational resilience. The role is accountable for integrating planning, sourcing, inventory, and logistics to enable efficient flow of goods from supplier to customer, while supporting organisational growth objectives. It drives performance through effective cross‑functional alignment, robust supplier management, and data‑driven decision‑making. A key focus is on building strong, long‑term supplier partnerships, improving supplier performance, and implementing localisation strategies to strengthen the supply base. The role also emphasises continuous improvement across cost, quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership, alongside proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for capital equipment categories aligned with business objectives.
- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities including RFQs, RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to identify savings and value opportunities.
- Establish and manage preferred supplier frameworks and long‑term agreements.
- Supply Chain (end to end) Planning
- Lead the end‑to‑end planning process, including demand forecasting, supply planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), to ensure alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and inventory levels.
- Sourcing & Procurement
- Manage supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier performance to secure reliable supply, optimise costs, and build strategic partnerships that support long‑term business objectives.
- Operations / Manufacturing
- Oversee manufacturing and operational execution to ensure efficient production processes, high‑quality output, and alignment with planned schedules and business priorities.
- Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost‑effective movement of goods from suppliers through to customers.
- Inventory Management
- Optimise inventory levels and policies to balance service levels with working capital efficiency, ensuring the right stock is available at the right time while minimising excess and obsolescence.
- Customer Fulfilment
- Ensure seamless order management and delivery performance, achieving high levels of on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) service and a positive customer experience.
- Project & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to support Capex projects from concept through to execution.
- Provide procurement expertise in project planning, budgeting, and timelines.
- Act as the key procurement contact for capital investment initiatives.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers globally.
- Drive supplier performance through KPIs, regular reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead negotiations to secure optimal pricing, delivery terms, warranties, and service agreements.
- Cost & Risk Management
- Deliver cost savings and cost avoidance targets across capital equipment spend.
- Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including capacity, geopolitical, and compliance risks.
- Contracting & Compliance
- Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure adherence to procurement governance, ethical sourcing, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of sourcing activities.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements and standardisation within capital procurement.
- Leverage digital tools and analytics to improve sourcing efficiency and visibility.
- Support sustainability and ESG initiatives within supplier selection and procurement practices.
- People Management
- Provide leadership within the team; coach, mentor and develop direct reports to deliver customer obsession and continuous improvement.
- Set departmental objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance, tracking relevant KPIs.
- Ensure roles and responsibilities are defined and accountability is embraced and accepted.
- Ensure strong trust and communication between teams to facilitate exchange of information and service before self.
- Carry out regular 1:1s, complete mid‑year and end‑of‑year performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and capability procedures as appropriate.

Knowledge & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) desirable.
- Extensive experience in procurement or sourcing, with a focus on capital equipment or CapEx projects.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, moulding and surface treatment.
- Hands‑on experience with GD&T, metrology, and testing equipment to ensure first‑time‑right quality.
Location and Travel Requirements
MPT Evesham. 50% Travel & Rest in Office.
