Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEN EducationLocation: TottonTemporary & Permanent Positions AvailableTerm Time Only | Monday to FridayHunts Recruitment are recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for a specialist education setting based in Totton , with both temporary and permanent opportunities available .We are looking for caring, confident and resilient individuals with previous experience working with children or young people in a similar field . Experience within an education or school setting is ideally preferred , particularly supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behaviours that can challenge .This is a rewarding, hands-on role supporting pupils both academically and socially, working alongside teachers and other school staff to help children engage positively with their learning and school environment. The role will include: Supporting individual pupils and small groups within the classroomHelping pupils engage with and complete learning activitiesSupporting children with SEN and additional needsManaging and responding appropriately to behaviours that can challengeBuilding positive and trusting relationships with pupilsSupporting teachers with lessons and learning activitiesMonitoring and providing feedback on pupil progressHelping to maintain a calm, safe and supportive learning environmentSupporting pupils during breaktimes and other school activitiesWe're looking for: Previous experience working with children or young people in a similar fieldExperience within an education setting ideally preferredExperience supporting SEN and additional needsExperience managing behaviours that can challengeA calm, patient and consistent approachGood communication and interpersonal skillsSomeone reliable, resilient and able to work well as part of a teamPrevious experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Worker, Children's Support Worker or Residential Support Worker could all be relevant.

Temporary Opportunities Our temporary positions are generally ongoing placements of 4–5 days per week , depending on your availability and the needs of the school.

These aren't necessarily short-term, one-off bookings. If the placement is working well for both you and the school, assignments can be extended and continue for several months at a time , giving you the opportunity to build consistency and really get to know the pupils and staff you are supporting.

Permanent Opportunities Permanent positions are also available for candidates looking for a longer-term role within specialist education.

Permanent hours: Monday to Friday – 8:50am to 3:25pm30 hours per week | Term Time OnlyActual Annual Salary: Β£17,637Both temporary and permanent opportunities are subject to a successful half-day unpaid trial shift .If you have relevant experience and would love the opportunity to support children and young people within specialist education, we'd love to hear from you.
