Childrens Residential Support Worker Temp to Perm 39 hours per week | £12.71 rising to £14.45 after 12 weeks | 24 sleep-ins per month | Immediate starts available
We are currently recruiting for a Childrens Residential Support Worker to join a residential home supporting children aged 513 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity , offering 39 hours per week with the opportunity to move into a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
The role Youll be working as part of an experienced residential team, providing a safe, stable and nurturing home environment for children who may display behaviours that can be challenging as a result of their individual needs and experiences.
The role will involve building positive and consistent relationships with the children, supporting their emotional wellbeing and helping them with everyday life.
Duties may include:
Supporting children with their daily routines
Providing emotional and behavioural support
Helping children develop independence and life skills
Supporting with activities, appointments and school routines
Managing challenging situations calmly and appropriately
Maintaining clear boundaries and providing consistent support
Working closely with the wider residential team
Hours & shifts The position is based on 39 hours per week , with approximately 24 sleep-ins per month .
Day staff generally work a mixture of long days (typically 7:30am10:30pm), early shifts, late shifts and sleep-ins , including weekends on a rota basis.
Pay £12.71 per hour for the first 12 weeks
£14.45 per hour after 12 weeks
Sleep-ins are paid in addition.
What we're looking for Previous experience within childrens residential care, EBD, SEN, support work or a similar care setting would be beneficial.
We are looking for people who are patient, resilient, reliable and able to remain calm in challenging situations , with a genuine interest in making a positive difference to childrens lives.
Drivers are preferred but not essential.
Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work full-time in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position.
