You would be joining us in the role of Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA), delivering a vital service to our patients. Being an ACA is so much more than just driving. The standard hours for this role are typically 37.5 hours per week. This is a shift-based role, you’ll work as part of a rota covering early mornings, evenings, lates and night shifts, which can fall on any day across the 7-day week, including weekends and public holidays. Shifts will vary, so flexibility is essential. We also welcome interest from candidates who may be looking for part-time hours.

Summary Of Main Duties Include:

  • Patient Transport & Care - Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support, and compassionate care throughout their journey.
  • Assisting with Mobility - Helping patients with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes.
  • Communication & Compassion - Communicating clearly and kindly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect, and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Vehicle Checks & Basic Administration - Carrying out daily vehicle checks, keeping all equipment clean and ready in line with Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and ensuring that any incidents and/or journey details are accurately recorded as required.
