HP Wolf Security is redefining endpoint security through hardware‑enforced protection built directly into the PC. The Manageability Software Team builds the software suite that enables IT administrators and end users to configure, deploy, and operate the HP Wolf Security software suite.
We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead this multi‑disciplinary software team, providing people leadership, delivery coordination, and strategic input into the product roadmap. This is a hands‑off management role, focused on enabling teams to do their best work rather than individual contribution.
What you’ll do as a Senior Manager:
- Lead and line‑manage a team of software engineers, including permanent staff and contractors
- Build a high‑performing team through coaching, feedback, and professional development
- Coordinate the team through sprint planning, stand‑ups, and collaboration with adjacent teams
- Recruit and onboard new software developers as the team grows
- Partner with product management, support, and senior leadership to shape medium‑ and long‑term roadmaps
- Act as an escalation point for internal and external customer issues
The team & technology:
The team works across a range of technologies and platforms, including:
- A cloud‑based full‑stack web application (React, Django) used by IT administrators for remote management
- An on‑device management application (C#, WPF) that enables users to directly manage security features
While this is a hands-off role, familiarity with modern software development practices and the technologies used by the team would be beneficial.
What you’ll bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience managing a team of software developers
- A prior background in software development
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance technical, product, and business priorities
- Experience hiring and growing teams
- Confidence handling escalations and difficult conversations
Location & working model:
This role is based in HP’s Cambridge office under a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum requirement to be onsite three days per week. As a people‑focused leadership role, regular in‑person collaboration is encouraged.
Why join HP Wolf Security:
HP Wolf Security is central to HP’s strategy in the PC market, with security designed into hardware, firmware, and software. This integrated approach enables HP to differentiate through built‑in, enterprise‑grade protection and manageability. This role sits at the heart of that strategy, helping deliver the tools that allow customers to deploy, manage, and trust secure PCs at scale.
Our history: Inspired by the isolation principles of traditional virtualization, our team known then as Bromium, created a game-changing technology called micro-virtualization to protect end users against advanced malware. Every task the user performs, such as opening a document or clicking on a link, is isolated in its own micro-VM, with access to just the resources required for that task, and existing just for the life of the task. Protection is thus provided through isolation, without relying on detection, hence reliably defending the user from polymorphic and even zero-day malware. Bromium was acquired by HP Inc on 19 September 2019 forming HP Wolf Security.
