Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw), working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm in Hartlepool.
We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic Hartlepool Move on team. We are the multi-skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. We work with customers who have low to medium housing needs, across a mix of properties and grounds. As our handy person, you’ll spend much of your time working across different properties.
What you’ll do:
- Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.
- Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paint, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns and clearing grounds.
- Carry out regular fire safety checks.
- Work with colleagues, contractors and customers.
- Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

You have:
- A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.
- General maintenance know-how, a bit of carpentry, basic plumbing and confidence with a paintbrush or broom.

The practical bits:
We mainly work Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, but we’re flexible as long as we meet our customer’s needs. You’ll be based at Greenwood Road and travel around the properties in our Hartlepool area. Occasionally you’ll head outside the patch for all hands-on-deck situations. You’ll need a Standard DBS check; we pay for it.
