Kensal Studios is hiring a Social Media Manager to work with one of our clients in the basketball space. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how to build sports audiences, move quickly around live events and turn moments into compelling social content. You will lead the day-to-day management of the client’s digital platforms, ensuring content is timely, engaging, platform-specific and consistent throughout the season.
Working closely with the wider content team, you will be responsible for publishing, social copy, community management, platform growth and best-in-class game-day coverage.
Compensation
This is a paid fixed-term contract. Compensation will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and will reflect the successful candidate’s experience.
Expected Commitment
4 days per week on average with evenings and weekends where required.
Location Requirement
The successful candidate will be expected to work from the office in London a minimum of one to two days per week, in addition to attending client activities as required.
Overview
The Social Media Manager will lead the day-to-day management of the client’s digital platforms, ensuring consistent, engaging and timely content across all channels. Working closely with the wider content team, this role is responsible for publishing, community engagement, platform growth and delivering best-in-class game-day coverage throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
- Channel Management
- Manage all client channels including Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Publish content across platforms in line with the client’s content strategy
- Maintain content calendars and scheduling workflows
- Optimise content for each platform and audience
- Social Copy & Editorial
- Write captions, headlines and social copy across all channels
- Produce LinkedIn articles and newsletters
- Support announcements, game days, partnerships and commercial campaigns
- Community Management
- Actively engage with fans across all channels
- Monitor conversations and respond where appropriate
- Drive audience interaction and community growth
- Escalate customer service issues where required
- Event Coverage
- Lead social coverage at events
- Capture and edit iPhone-first content during events
- Publish live updates and key moments
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Experience using CapCut or equivalent editing software
- Strong understanding of sports, entertainment or creator-led content
