This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade of a prestigious country house hotel in Kettering. Set within a magnificent listed property surrounded by acres of grounds, this is a fantastic role for a chef who wants to take the next step within a luxury hospitality environment.
The kitchen delivers a varied and high quality food offering across fine dining, brasserie service, afternoon tea, private dining, weddings and events. This role would suit a strong Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie who is ready to move into a Junior Sous Chef position, taking on more responsibility while continuing to develop under an experienced senior kitchen team.
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the senior chefs with the daily running of the kitchen, helping to lead service, guide junior chefs and maintain consistency across multiple outlets and events. There is also the opportunity to contribute ideas to seasonal menus and support the development of a new food concept for the business.

Junior Sous Chef Ideal Profile:
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Background within luxury hotels, fine dining, brasserie, banqueting or Rosette standard kitchens would be beneficial
- Confident running a section and supporting wider kitchen service
- Passionate about seasonal ingredients, quality local produce and carefully prepared dishes
- Comfortable supporting both restaurant service and large scale events
- Able to guide, support and motivate junior chefs within the brigade
- Strong team player who contributes positively within a busy kitchen environment
- Excellent organisation with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Committed to maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen standards
Junior Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Support the senior kitchen team with the smooth running of daily kitchen operations
- Lead and maintain a kitchen section to a high standard
- Prepare and present dishes across fine dining, brasserie, afternoon tea, private dining, weddings and events
- Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and quality local produce where possible
- Support junior chefs with preparation, standards, organisation and service delivery
- Assist with seasonal menus, specials and the development of new food ideas
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation across every service
- Support the wider brigade during busy restaurant and banqueting periods
- Assist with stock rotation, mise en place, ordering and section organisation
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness at all times
- Contribute to a positive, professional and ambitious kitchen culture
