We are looking for a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a busy, fresh food focused venue with a strong reputation for quality, consistency and warm hospitality. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident kitchen leader who enjoys working with fresh, organic produce, creating seasonal dishes, developing a team and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

The role would suit a chef who has strong experience in fresh food kitchens, can work confidently with volume, and is now looking for something with more balance. This is a daytime hours position, working five days a week with one weekend day off, making it ideal for someone who still wants to lead a successful kitchen without the demands of late nights.

The food style is all about quality ingredients, proper execution and consistency. The venue is not looking for overly fancy or complicated food, but for someone who can take excellent produce and cook it really well. You will have the creative freedom to develop dishes that suit the customer base, while keeping the food approachable, seasonal and commercially strong.

This role also needs a Head Chef with a strong operational head. Alongside cooking and menu development, you will be responsible for stock control, ordering, kitchen margins, waste management and the day-to-day organisation of the team. Leadership is a key part of the role, and the business is looking for someone who can nurture, guide and develop the kitchen team while creating a calm, structured and positive working culture.

There are future growth plans within the business, with the potential to expand and open additional sites. The focus now is on getting this core site running at its very best, building strong systems, standards and kitchen culture that can be carried through into future projects.

You Will Need

  • Confident kitchen leader with strong experience in fresh food environments
  • Experience working with fresh, organic produce
  • Comfortable working with volume while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Passionate about seasonal ingredients, quality produce and well-executed dishes
  • Creative, but focused on approachable food cooked to a high standard
  • Organised and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage a busy kitchen service
  • Strong understanding of stock control, ordering, kitchen margins and waste management
  • Operationally minded, with the ability to put structure and systems in place
  • Able to motivate, train and support a team while creating a positive working culture
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a nurturing and hands-on approach
  • Professional, reliable and able to see the bigger picture as the business grows

Head Chef Responsibilities

  • Lead the kitchen team across daily service, preparation and menu delivery
  • Create and develop fresh, seasonal dishes that suit the venue style and customer base
  • Work confidently with fresh, organic produce and maintain strong cooking standards
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen organisation
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, supplier communication and waste control effectively
  • Support menu costing, kitchen efficiency and consistent gross profit performance
  • Train, guide and motivate the kitchen team to deliver a smooth and professional service
  • Build a calm, organised and positive kitchen culture
  • Put strong systems, standards and processes in place across the kitchen
  • Support the senior team with the wider goals of the business and future growth plans
