This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Sous Chef to join a small luxury country house hotel in North Wales, set within Snowdonia National Park a.

The Hotel has a strong reputation for warm hospitality, a wonderful wine list and a food offering that is continuing to grow in ambition.

The kitchen currently holds multiple AA Rosettes and is working towards achieving a third, making this an exciting time to join the team.

The restaurant serves around 30 to 35 covers, with food also offered through the bar, creating a varied but focused operation where quality, consistency and teamwork are key.

The food style is modern, seasonal and sophisticated without being overly complicated.

The kitchen focuses on great local Welsh produce, well balanced dishes and a carefully considered service style that suits the character of the hotel and its location.

You will be joining a close knit kitchen team of around five chefs, so attitude, teamwork and fit are just as important as experience.

The business has a strong people focused culture and would suit a Sous Chef who is passionate, positive and keen to be part of a supportive team that is genuinely striving for higher standards.

This role does not provide accommodation, so you must be able to reliably commute or relocate to the area.

You must also be able to drive due to the location.

Please note that this role does not provide Sponsorship, to apply you will need a full British Passport or the right to work in the UK.

Sous Chef Ideal Profile

  • Sound experience in a quality kitchen environment, ideally at multiple Rosette level
  • Minimum 1 or 2 AARosette experience would be highly beneficial
  • Clear passion for food, flavour and quality local Welsh produce
  • Natural ability as a chef with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident supporting a small team in a focused, high quality kitchen
  • Able to work across restaurant and bar food while maintaining consistency
  • Ambitious and excited by the goal of progressing from 2 AA Rosettes towards a third
  • Dedicated team player with a natural ability to lead and support others
  • Positive, professional and able to fit into a people focused company culture
  • Calm, organised and reliable during service

Sous Chef Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in the smooth day to day running of the kitchen
  • Help deliver modern, seasonal dishes using quality local produce
  • Maintain strong standards across restaurant service and bar food
  • Support the kitchen’s continued progression towards multi AA Rosette standards
  • Lead, motivate and support the team during service
  • Help with prep, service organisation, ordering and stock control
  • Maintain excellent food quality, presentation and consistency
  • Support training and development within the small kitchen team
  • Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
