Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable 7.5t Driver to join our Ground Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to all safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering, looking to contribute to a dynamic transport operation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a 7.5-tonne flatbed or box lorry for scheduled deliveries and collections
  • Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery deadlines
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
  • Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle before each shift
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
  • Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance reports and minor repairs if necessary

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience within a similar role
  • Familiarity with flatbed driving and handling of various cargo types is desirable
  • Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Experience in route planning and navigation using GPS or traditional maps
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling
