About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist for a 12-month locum opportunity based in Southampton. The primary focus of the role will be prescription checking, ensuring prescriptions are clinically appropriate, accurate and safe for patients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist looking for a long-term locum position offering consistent Monday-to-Friday hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and check prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
- Identify potential prescribing errors, interactions or contraindications
- Ensure medicines are prescribed safely and in accordance with relevant guidelines
- Liaise with prescribers and other healthcare professionals regarding medication queries
- Maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation
- Support safe and effective medicines management
- Provide professional pharmaceutical advice where required
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and confidentiality
