About the role

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our Brick and Block Haulage department. Drivers will be expected to travel around the country to deliver customer goods in a safe and professional manner. The position is available from our Bideford, Exeter, Wrangaton and Caldicot depots. This is for an Artic or Lorry and Drag type vehicle and includes nights out.

Key Skill Requirements for driver:

  • Deliver customers' goods in a professional and friendly manner
  • Ensure the most direct truck-friendly route is taken
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks
  • Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
  • Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
  • Be able to work to a productive nature

Qualifications and Skills for driver:

  • Full driving licence
  • In date driver CPC and digital tachograph
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the UK and be able to use a road atlas
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness
  • Presentable, good attitude and polite
  • HIAB Lorry loader experience required
  • Netting experience of benefit but not essential
