Research Engineer - AI / ML / LLM We are partnered with a global leader in the semiconductor industry.
The team is looking to hire a Research Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects spanning both applied and fundamental research, with a focus on applying AI to semiconductor design and optimisation.
This is a permanent opportunity based in London or Cambourne, UK.
Key responsibilities for this Research Engineer position: Implement and test research ideas across machine learning and AI.
Build prototypes and support experiments for team and company projects.
Collaborate with researchers to translate theoretical models into practical systems.
Maintain and improve research infrastructure, tools, and workflows.
Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Key requirements: Experience implementing machine learning algorithms and techniques.
Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, Py Torch, JAX) advantageous.
Experience with optimisation, reinforcement learning, or LLMs a plus.
Exposure to chip design or applied AI research desirable.
