EMJ is looking for an Associate Medical Writer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your scientific writing skills, work on a variety of medical education projects, and learn from experienced writers in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support the creation of high‑quality scientific content, including symposium reviews, eLearning modules, and KOL interviews across a range of therapy areas.
- Conduct literature research and summarise complex scientific data into clear, engaging content.
- Assist with the development of educational materials, including needs assessments and gap analyses.
- Work closely with senior writers and the wider team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
- Contribute to multimedia content such as webinars, podcasts, and infographics.
- Attend (or support coverage of) key medical congresses and help identify important scientific insights.
- Ensure all work aligns with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards, with guidance from senior team members.
- Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and clients to continuously improve your work.
Who You Are
- You have a degree (MSc or PhD) in a scientific, medical, or healthcare‑related field.
- You have a strong interest in medical writing or healthcare communications (previous internships or experience are a bonus, but not essential).
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- You’re organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks with support.
- You’re eager to learn, take feedback on board, and develop your skills quickly.
- You have a basic understanding of scientific research and an interest in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
Key Information
- Reports to: Senior Medical Writer
- Hours: 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday
- Salary: £35,000
- Location: Onsite in our London/Moorgate office (hybrid work thereafter)
- High Performance working: Up to 2 days flexibility to work from home (full‑time in‑office during probation)
