Design, engineer, and optimize utility-scale energy storage systems and work with the sales team closely to offer engineering solutions to the sales team and customers.
Analyse RFP documentation and assess project scope and risk.
Conduct technical design and presentations and provide clarifications to our sales team and customers.
Understand, interpret, and relay customer requirements into BESS technical solution designs.
Review and submit technical tender response bundles within deadlines.
Follow up and analyse previous technical tender submissions to understand the outcome/result from the technical point of view.
Understand and keep up with technical and engineering requirements and storage market trends.
Study the competitive landscape for ongoing product technical solution development.
Collaborate with customers and commercial teams to support them in negotiating and finalising contracts from a technical perspective.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering
- Fluency in technical English
- 8 + years of experience in a relevant field, preferably incl. experience working for a DNO or TSO
- Working knowledge of battery systems, power conversion systems, PPC/EMS/SCADA, and grid connection processes for jurisdictions under your management (UK or relevant regions in Europe)
- Familiarity with grid operator processes
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and standards for BESS systems
- Ability to size the Power Converter System (PCS) and battery system
- Familiarity with design concepts related to short circuit protection, conductor sizing, thermal systems, safety systems, etc.
- Any additional European languages (esp. Italian, German, Spanish) will be a plus
