Elite Talent Resourcing have been engaged by a leading provider in the Plumbing industry to source a Solution Architect for their office based in Northampton on a permanent basis. As a Solution Architect you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of the systems architecture road maps, in support of our business objectives.
Main duties and responsibilities for the Solution Architect:
- Delivery of solution architecture and design to support the plans of the business units of the group, identifying points of contention or missed activities and communicating with project leadership.
- Identifying risks, constraints, dependencies and traceability within the system architecture and proposing the appropriate solutions.
- Identify new technologies and implement them into the systems architecture where they can lead to a commercial advantage and act as a catalyst for the take-up within IT development.
- Work with the Enterprise Architect to communicate the systems architecture plan to the business, enabling the use of re-usable assets such as enterprise principles, standards policies, API frameworks, and micro services.
- Ensure that designs adhere to established architectural governance, attending as required Design Authority and Architecture Review Board forums, and ensuring design conformity to preferred technical approaches that benefit the business.
- Actively support the Architecture Practice, including attending regular review forums and engaging with colleagues to ensure all TP architects are aware of, and contribute to the architecture roadmap.
- Contribute to the evolution of the architectural design process, ensuring it is effectively maintaining the artefacts, principles and practice documentation.
The ideal Solution Architect:
- Recognised architecture accreditation such as TOGAF or Zachman framework.
- Experience in providing consultancy to the business, designing complex architectures.
- Delivering architectural solutions to solve business concerns.
- Develop, mentor and bring teams together through collaborative working.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to stakeholders and management.
- Strong hands-on skills implementing contemporary technologies and methodologies.
- Confident working at detailed level in complex technical environments.
- Modelling processes, systems, data and infrastructure in UML and/or other modelling languages.
- Excellent systems architecture creation techniques, including a wide range of available technologies.
