- We are seeking a professional, organised, and enthusiastic
- School Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Durham from
September 2026 .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding administrative support to pupils, staff, parents, and visitors.

Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child is supported to achieve their full potential, while the administration team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
As a
School Administrator , you will provide efficient administrative support across the school, acting as one of the first points of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and office staff to ensure the school operates effectively and professionally.
This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing in
September 2026 .
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and wider school staff.
- Welcome visitors, parents, and pupils, delivering a professional and friendly front-of-house service.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate pupil records and school databases.
- Process attendance records and assist with daily registers.
- Prepare letters, reports, newsletters, and other school documentation.
- Manage filing systems and maintain confidential records in accordance with GDPR.
- Order and monitor office supplies and resources.
- Support the organisation of school events, meetings, and appointments.
- Liaise professionally with parents, external agencies, and visitors.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Preferred Criteria
Previous experience working as a School Administrator or within a school office.
- Experience using school management information systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar.
- Previous reception or customer service experience.
- Knowledge of school attendance and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience supporting school admissions or general office administration.
- This role would suit an organised and approachable
School Administrator who enjoys working in a busy educational environment.
