This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager to join a world-leading Energy Trading company as part of a new Endur ETRM programme.
Role Overview: You will lead discovery activities to define project scope, business requirements, options, costs, timelines, risks, dependencies, governance requirements and delivery approaches. Initial focus areas include Endur Hosting, Endur To-Be Purging and North America Emissions Redesign – with additional initiatives expected to emerge throughout the pre-project phase. You will provide the structure, governance and clarity required to convert concepts into executable projects, ensuring all the project’s pre-requisites are defined, approved and delivered in line with programme timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery and shaping activities for project pre-project initiatives.
- Translate high-level business objectives and problem statements into clearly defined project scopes and deliverables.
- Establish business requirements, success measures, assumptions, risks, constraints and dependencies.
- Engage business and IT stakeholders to assess current-state processes, systems, data and operating models.
- Develop project charters, scope documents, delivery roadmaps and mobilisation plans.
- Produce business cases, investment requests and executive recommendations where required.
- Define resource requirements, delivery approaches and governance structures.
- Identify and manage cross-project dependencies to ensure alignment with the wider project programme roadmap.
- Plan, execute and control assigned projects in accordance with the company framework.
- Manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues and reporting.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across business, technology and external partners.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to programme leadership and governance forums.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience defining and shaping projects from early-stage concepts or problem statements.
- Strong discovery, assessment and mobilisation experience.
- Ability to rapidly establish project scope, requirements, business outcomes and delivery approaches.
- Experience developing project charters, business cases and investment proposals.
- Strong project management experience using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience establishing governance, reporting, assurance and control frameworks.
- Strong planning, budgeting, forecasting and tracking capability.
- Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and change control.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience working with senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
Delivery & Technology:
- Experience delivering business and technology change initiatives.
- Ability to work across business, process, data and technology domains.
- Experience coordinating multiple interdependent projects and workstreams.
Highly Desirable Experience:
- Trading & Supply experience.
- Knowledge of Endur and commodity trading environments.
- Experience with infrastructure, hosting and application modernisation initiatives.
- Experience with data management, data retention or data purging programmes.
- Knowledge of regulatory, sustainability or emissions reporting processes.
- Experience working within large global organisations and matrix structures.
Mandatory Skills:
- Recognised Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent).
