We are supporting a client looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with strong storage expertise to join an established Platform team. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining stability across production environments, resolving incidents and contributing to continuous improvement.
You will work closely with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, support key storage technologies and ensure services remain resilient and available.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, escalating where appropriate
- Carry out technical tasks including patching, storage allocation, scripting and backup configuration
- Prioritise workload effectively to support high priority activities
- Contribute to process improvements and team efficiency
- Produce clear and accurate technical documentation
- Support and collaborate with team members across the platform function
Strong experience within complex, high-pressure production environments:
- Spectrum scale (GPFS, NFS, SMB) in active-active environments
- Cluster management across Spectrum Scale, Oracle and ESXi
- Linux command line experience
- Storage provisioning across IBM estates
- Service management tools such as ServiceNow
- Understanding of how technical changes impact system availability
- Exposure to AWS and cloud-based environments
