Operations Manager - The Details Competitive salary dependent on experience Annual performance bonus 25 days' holiday + bank holidays 8% employer pension contribution 3 x salary life assurance 8% employer pension contribution Early finish on Fridays Operations Manager - Requirements and Responsibilities You'll be responsible for: Taking overall ownership of operational performance, safety, quality and compliance. Leading and developing warehouse, manufacturing and engineering teams. Ensuring compliance with HASAWA 1974, HSE requirements and relevant statutory regulations. Overseeing risk assessments, SSOW, PPE, RIDDOR and wider H&S systems. Managing statutory inspections and compliance across equipment, facilities and infrastructure. Driving a structured Continuous Improvement programme across the operation. Developing a strong right-first-time and accountability culture. Leading root-cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions. Coordinating internal, external, statutory and customer audits. Working closely with customers and international teams to resolve operational and technical issues. Providing practical troubleshooting support across machinery, manufacturing and processes. Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, quality, safety and customer satisfaction. Maintaining a visible, hands-on presence across the site. You'll bring: Significant experience in an Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar leadership position. A recognised Health & Safety qualification - NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate, NVQ or relevant degree-level qualification. Strong working knowledge of HASAWA 1974, HSE legislation and workplace compliance. Experience managing statutory, customer and external audits. Solid mechanical understanding and confidence working with machinery, equipment and technical issues. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Experience delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives. A strong understanding of quality and right-first-time principles. Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to engage at shop-floor, management and customer level. The confidence to challenge existing practices and make difficult decisions.
