The ACCS department specialises in the design, manufacturing and installation of aisle containment and caging in data centres. We are seeking a Welder Fabricator to join our team. This role is responsible for fabricating steel parts and subassemblies, producing the parts within the timescale and fault-free.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow the work sequence as required by the Supervisor/Team Leader.
- Check parts for fabrication are correct before starting work on the item(s).
- Set out drilling, cutting and other basic machining in accordance with the part(s) drawings.
- Ensure fabricated/welded assemblies are correct to dimensions, level and square.
- Operate basic workshop machines: Saws, Drills, and Weld sets safely and correctly.
- Ask for guidance in all matters if required.
- Report any safety risks or defects immediately to the team leader, or, in their absence, to other management.
- Complete QA process paperwork in conjunction with the Supervisor / Team Leader as appropriate.
- Train new operatives in the fabrication processes.
- Read and interpret parts drawings, other written instructions, and diagrams to perform the task at hand.
- Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs.
- Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
- De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve a perfect surface texture for Powder Coating.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
- Comply with H & S regulations at all times.
- Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
- Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Able to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
- Complete and provable understanding of English written and verbal communication.
- Ability to demonstrate competent understanding and use of basic workshop machine(s) and MIG welding.
- Able to read engineering drawings.
- Experience of workshop or similar manual fabrication processes.
- Capacity to learn new skills and production methods.
