The ACCS department specialises in the design, manufacturing and installation of aisle containment and caging in data centres. We are seeking a Welder Fabricator to join our team. This role is responsible for fabricating steel parts and subassemblies, producing the parts within the timescale and fault-free.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow the work sequence as required by the Supervisor/Team Leader.
  • Check parts for fabrication are correct before starting work on the item(s).
  • Set out drilling, cutting and other basic machining in accordance with the part(s) drawings.
  • Ensure fabricated/welded assemblies are correct to dimensions, level and square.
  • Operate basic workshop machines: Saws, Drills, and Weld sets safely and correctly.
  • Ask for guidance in all matters if required.
  • Report any safety risks or defects immediately to the team leader, or, in their absence, to other management.
  • Complete QA process paperwork in conjunction with the Supervisor / Team Leader as appropriate.
  • Train new operatives in the fabrication processes.
  • Read and interpret parts drawings, other written instructions, and diagrams to perform the task at hand.
  • Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs.
  • Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
  • De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve a perfect surface texture for Powder Coating.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
  • Comply with H & S regulations at all times.
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Able to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Complete and provable understanding of English written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate competent understanding and use of basic workshop machine(s) and MIG welding.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience of workshop or similar manual fabrication processes.
  • Capacity to learn new skills and production methods.
