As a Planner You Will:

  • Deliver a range of environmental planning services, including feasibility assessments, screening, scoping and coordination of planning activities in line with relevant UK planning and environmental legislation and policy.
  • Prepare planning applications, supporting statements and technical reports, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet client, regulatory and project requirements.
  • Support the delivery of infrastructure projects across utilities and infrastructure sectors, including capital schemes, development appraisals and consent strategies.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including client teams, technical specialists and Local Authority planning officers, attending meetings and site visits as required.
  • Assist with business development activities, including contributing to fee proposals and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and cross-sell wider DM services.
  • Maintain and develop your own technical knowledge through CPD, working towards RTPI accreditation if not already achieved.
  • Support the wider Environmental & Planning team on other projects as required, contributing to a positive team culture and promoting DM’s values.
  • Carry out work in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold a relevant planning degree and be working towards (or have achieved) RTPI accreditation.
  • Have a good understanding of UK planning legislation, environmental policy and infrastructure consenting processes.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Be confident in researching planning and environmental data and coordinating surveys or technical inputs.
  • Have experience using planning tools such as MAGIC and other relevant data sources.
  • Be self-motivated, organised and able to manage your time effectively across multiple tasks.
  • Be a great team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
