We’re looking for a Mid-Level PHP / PostgreSQL Development Engineer to join our IT team in Leeds.

About the role, and about you
We’re on the lookout for a talented and passionate Mid-Level PHP / PostgreSQL Developer to join our existing I.T. team to help us develop and drive forward the internal systems that we use to allow the company to succeed. Working as Mid-Level PHP / PostgreSQL Developer, the core purpose of your role will be to develop new systems to integrate smoothly with other internal and third-party products, as well as maintaining our existing systems. Your role will have you involved in the full lifecycle for system development, starting with the analysis of existing processes, through design and proposal, to development and user support.
You will be developing and administering on a L.A.P.P. platform, so knowledge of HTML5, PHP 8+, PostgreSQL 17+, and Rocky 9 would be essential.

- API based M365 / Sharepoint access
- Powershell and MS platforms
You will need to be able to work independently, driving projects and managing deadlines. You will also be able to work in a team, able to provide 1st and 2nd line support to the rest of the I.T. department, as well as end users. You’ll be a positive thinker, willing to flex, adapt and go the extra mile. A natural ability to develop and maintain excellent professional working relationships, solve complex problems and manage multiple priorities with tact and discretion is essential.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience developing with PHP (8 or above)
- Proven understanding of relational databases and experience of PostgreSQL
- Front end development abilities including HTML / CSS / JS / AJAX
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Ability to write maintainable, testable, and efficient code
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong ownership of tasks
- Good communication skills, able to explain technical ideas clearly
- A collaborative team player who enjoys learning and sharing knowledge
- Commitment to continuous improvement and keeping up with new technologies
Hours: This role will be 39hrs a week.
