We're looking for a dynamic sales leader to lead UK sales growth and profitability across Building Services by developing effective sales strategies, strengthening customer relationships, and driving market share through a high-performing sales team and cross-functional collaboration.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales and pricing strategies for the UK to improve market share and profit margins.
  • Develop relationships with end users and technical consultants to develop the image of a quality supplier and ensure Crane products are specified for building services applications and water and steam process applications.
  • Develop relationships with contractors to win orders at improved shipping margins building on Crane’s brand strengths for technical quality & performance, application expertise, reliability and service.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with distributors to ensure Crane products are first choice for supply to contractors, maintenance engineers and end users.
  • Manage sales strategic development processes and standard ways of working including call planning and enquiry tracking.
  • Ensure the sales team is effective, trained and fully motivated to take ownership and build added value relationships to increase our market share and margins.
  • In conjunction with the marketing team organise sales promotions, exhibitions and advertising to support sales activities.
  • Work closely with the product managers and product engineering team to generate ideas for new market leading products, devices and services to increase Crane’s position in the value chain, and to bring these initiatives to market in a timely manner.
  • Work in conjunction with the customer service staff and supply chain teams to ensure the highest standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with the technical departments to ensure take offs and quotations are optimised to win orders at the most profitable levels.
  • Contribute to forecasting process, and inventory level management to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries.

Qualifications/Experience/Training:

  • Significant experience of the building services sector and its routes to market with a proven track record of selling.
  • Technically strong in terms of valve applications, preferably backed up by a technical qualification e.g. HNC.
  • Experience of, and strong contacts with, the route to market i.e. specifiers, contractors and end users, throughout the UK.
  • Experience of working with distributors, understanding their needs and the benefits/added value that the distributor can bring to the supply chain.
  • An experienced people leader, used to leading by example and dealing with challenging issues.
  • Good practical experience of using Microsoft packages.
  • Experienced CRM user with knowledge of CRM processes.

  • A natural sales person with the presence required to represent Crane on a national level.
  • Process driven in approach to sales management, project tracking, funnel management and call planning.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
