About the role:
Connex Education are working exclusively with a Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT) across Taunton and surrounding areas. Connex Education are looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis, as well as short to long term placements. These roles involve supporting both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes, offering general classroom assistance as well as one-to-one or small group support, depending on the needs of each school. Our fantastic Supply Teaching Assistant roles are due to start from September 2026, apply now to be put forward.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation
- Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children aged 4-11 in a UK primary school setting
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Understanding of classroom routines and the primary curriculum
- Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc. is desirable
- Organised, adaptable and enthusiastic
- Must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
