We are supporting a leading surveying and geospatial consultancy with a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across the North West. With a focus on rail and utilities, they are looking to recruit a Senior Utility Surveyor to take ownership of major surveys and support the development of junior staff. Rail experience is welcome but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex PAS 128 utility mapping surveys using EML, GPR, and GNSS tools
  • Manage survey teams on-site and coordinate workloads across multiple projects
  • Ensure technical accuracy, data integrity, and health & safety compliance
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and internal departments to deliver clear project outcomes
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to junior surveyors and trainees
  • Contribute to QA processes and assist in integrating utility data into CAD/BIM systems
  • Review and approve survey deliverables and technical documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience delivering utility surveys (rail, civils, or utilities sectors)
  • Proficient with PAS 128 standards, GPR, EML, and GNSS survey equipment
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices and health & safety procedures
  • Leadership experience - confident leading teams and interfacing with clients
  • Competent in data processing and CAD software (e.g. N4CE, AutoCAD, Trimble)
  • Full UK driving licence
