Job Description CNC Recruitment is working with a well-established timber manufacturing business in South Petherton to recruit a Sawmill Operative / Timber Machinist .
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in timber machining or sawmill operations to join a friendly and skilled production team.
You'll be responsible for operating a range of woodworking machinery, producing high-quality timber products to customer specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
If you're practical, hardworking and enjoy hands-on work, this could be the ideal role for you.
The Role Working as part of a production team, you'll operate timber machining equipment to process and prepare timber products, ensuring customer orders are completed accurately, safely and on time.
You'll take pride in producing quality workmanship while helping to maximise efficiency and minimise waste throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities Select suitable timber for customer orders.
Operate sawmill and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Cut, saw and machine timber to required specifications.
Maximise yield from each piece of timber to minimise waste.
Accurately record production information on paperwork and company systems.
Stack, band, label and prepare completed orders for dispatch.
Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet customer requirements.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
Support other production and sawmill activities as required.
