A specialist services company in the Guildford area is looking for a passionate, motivated Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance function. This is a newly created role to support the Accounts Manager by taking full ownership of the purchase ledger, plus assisting with a wide range of other duties including sales ledger, billing, credit control, cash and banking. Further down the line, there may be the opportunity to get involved with higher level tasks as the organisation prides itself on developing staff and promoting from within. The business is flourishing and has ambitious growth plans which will see their turnover double during the next 4-5 years. As such, this the perfect time to get on board and become a part of their long-term vision. What will the Accounts Assistant role involve? Full responsibility for purchase ledger, including posting/coding invoices, reconciling supplier statements, monitoring and resolving queries, posting supplier payments, issuing remittances, and producing payment schedules. New contract billing, installing schedules and issuing sales invoices. Counting cash, maintaining cashbook, processing and banking cheques, producing and publishing expense reports. Credit card and bank reconciliations. Credit control. Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Assistant vacancy: Broad transactional skill set, including experience in end-to-end purchase ledger, sales ledger, billing, credit control and reconciliations. Team player with a collaborative, ‘can do’ attitude, willingness to adapt, and desire to learn new tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. AAT studier/qualified and/or degree in Accountancy & Finance (desirable).
