About the role: We have an immediate opportunity for Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor who has demonstrable experience in FIDIC to join a brilliant SME Consultancy. You will be supporting the delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value developments, providing commercial and contractual leadership throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an international environment and willing to undertake regular travel, particularly to BENELUX on a weekly basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial and contractual management of projects under FIDIC forms of contract.
- Provide expert contract administration and ensure contractual compliance throughout project delivery.
- Manage change control, variations, claims, extensions of time, and dispute avoidance/resolution processes.
- Advise project teams and clients on contractual obligations, risks, and entitlements.
- Prepare and review contractual correspondence, notices, and reports.
- Oversee cost management, forecasting, procurement, and financial reporting activities.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support project governance and ensure robust commercial controls are maintained.
- Contribute to successful project delivery through proactive risk and opportunity management.
About you:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience operating as a Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Contract Manager within construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, or engineering sectors.
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience administering FIDIC contracts.
- Proven expertise in contract management, claims, variations, and commercial risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and confidently within international project teams.
- Flexible and willing to travel regularly throughout the UK and Europe, with frequent visits to Belgium.
- Professional membership (MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent) would be advantageous.
