Social Worker Court | £45ph Location: Torbay, Devon Rate: Up to £45 per hour Accommodation: £150 allowance Contract: Long-term agency contract Working pattern: Hybrid, with regular office attendance Caritas Recruitment is looking for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join Torbay Council's Court Team. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Social Worker with a background in care proceedings and complex safeguarding, offering up to £45ph, accommodation support and a long-term contract within a Children's Service recently rated GOOD by Ofsted. The role As a Court Social Worker, you will work with children and families where concerns have progressed into Public Law proceedings, managing complex cases and ensuring children's plans progress effectively through court. We are particularly interested in Social Workers with strong experience of: Care proceedings and court work Public Law Outline (PLO) Child Protection and complex safeguarding Preparing high-quality assessments and court statements Working with children and families where there are significant safeguarding concerns Multi-agency working Giving evidence and presenting professional analysis within court proceedings Managing complex Children's Services caseloads Hybrid working Candidates must be available to work from the Torbay office each week, with office attendance expected up to three days per week. During duty periods, full-time office presence may be required. You will also need to be able to travel throughout Torbay and occasionally out of county to visit children placed outside the area. Essential requirements Due to current Department for Education agency requirements, applicants must: Be a Social Work England registered Social Worker Have at least 3 years' post-qualifying experience in direct employment with an English local authority Have substantial Children's Services experience Have relevant experience of court proceedings, safeguarding and complex case management Not have left a permanent Children's Social Work role within the previous 6 months, where that role was within a Children's Services department or a local authority in the South West region Be able to attend the Torbay office each week Be able to travel as required Why Torbay?
