Up to £42.00 per hour | Largely Remote | London Caseload
A genuinely unique UASC Social Work opportunity. Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker based in or around London looking for better flexibility AND a strong hourly rate? I'm recruiting for a UASC Social Worker to manage a caseload of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children across London.
The big attraction? This role will be largely remote. You'll need to complete statutory visits around London, but travel to Dorset is only expected approximately once a month, potentially once every two months. For an experienced Social Worker looking to reduce regular office travel without moving away from frontline practice, this is a fantastic opportunity. A particularly rare combination of rate, flexibility and limited office attendance on offer!
Why consider it?
- Up to £42.00 per hour, offering a higher-than-average rate for the area
- Largely remote working
- London-based caseload
- Dorset attendance only monthly or potentially every two months
- Specialist experience working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children
- Supportive and experienced management
- Meaningful work supporting vulnerable young people to build safer, more independent futures
The role
You’ll manage a caseload of UASC and Children in Care, providing high-quality statutory support and helping young people who may have experienced trauma, loss and significant uncertainty. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a London-based UASC/Children in Care caseload
- Completing statutory visits across London
- Statutory assessments, care plans and pathway plans
- Safeguarding and risk management
- Supporting young people through asylum and immigration processes
- Building trusted relationships with young people
- Working with foster carers, schools, health, housing, legal services and the Home Office
- Court reports and hearings where required
- Permanence planning and transitions into adulthood
- Ensuring the young person's voice remains central to decision-making
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Strong Children’s Social Care experience
- Confident managing complex caseloads independently
- Good assessment, safeguarding and care-planning skills
- Strong report writing and multi-agency working
- UASC, Children in Care or court experience would be particularly beneficial
Due to the location of the caseload and statutory visits, this opportunity is particularly suited to Social Workers living in or within easy reach of London.
