We are now recruiting for several Intermediate/Assistant Commercial Managers to join our Core team. Our Core team deliver projects in the £200k to £5 million bracket across London and the South East.
The successful candidate will provide support and assistance to the Commercial Managers. Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Attend sub-contractor pre-start meetings for all key packages ensuring sub-contractor bids are fully compliant and due diligence has been carried out.
- Maintain regular dialogue with sub-contractors to ensure continued team awareness of all potential variations and opportunities for recovery at all times and ensure full adherence to the PCP process.
- Update Construction Phase Procurement Programme on a weekly basis. Provide weekly feedback and updates in order that the team understand the position on any package.
- Assist with all project-related commercial matters with the aim of maximising profits at all times.
- Assist with the two-stage tendering process as and when required.
- Update the sub-contractor database, in conjunction with the Estimating Department, in order that maximum efficiencies can be achieved.
- Assist with the placing of sub contract orders in accordance with the procurement schedule.
- Process sub contract payments as directed by the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure that the contract files are kept up to date and in order. Assist site-based staff in all that they require to deliver projects within the parameters of the contract.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- A good understanding of the commercial management and contract administration processes, particularly those related to cost management, payment, variations, change management and final account settlement.
- An awareness of the construction industry is preferable.
- An appreciation of Target Cost and Fixed Price contracts.
- Effective communication skills in all areas including written, oral and in presentations.
- Good IT literacy including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
