As a Senior Design Manager at BW, you will play a key role in leading the design and technical delivery of our projects. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from project inception through to tender, construction, and completion, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, innovation, and buildability throughout. Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams, you will help drive successful project outcomes while championing collaboration, efficiency, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the tender process by evaluating opportunities and developing high-quality, innovative proposals from a design management perspective.
- Take ownership of the technical aspects of tender submissions, ensuring compliance with tender documentation and delivering submissions of the highest standard.
- Engage early with design teams during the tender process to build strong working relationships and develop winning project strategies.
- Collaborate with specialist subcontractors to obtain technical input, achieve best value, and support successful tender outcomes.
- Carry out Design Audits at project commencement to identify key priorities, scope gaps, RFIs, benchmarking requirements, mock-ups, and buildability considerations.
- Develop, implement, and manage project design strategies and design management procedures.
- Maintain clear and effective communication between project teams, clients, consultants, statutory authorities, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and monitor design programmes and information release schedules to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on time.
- Produce and distribute monthly Design Progress Reports to the wider project and design teams.
- Review consultant and architect scopes of service and coordinate subcontractor design responsibilities, including the preparation of Design Responsibility Matrices for Design.
