Our client is a long-established Family Office responsible for a diverse portfolio of family and charitable trusts. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical and administrative aspects of trust work and is looking for greater variety, autonomy and quality of life than is often available within larger accountancy or professional services firms.
The Opportunity
You’ll play an important role in the management of a varied trust portfolio, becoming a trusted point of contact and taking ownership of a wide range of compliance and fiduciary responsibilities. The work is broad and engaging, covering:
- Preparation of trust accounts and tax returns
- Trust and estate taxation, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
- Managing distributions and beneficiary payments
- Trust cashflow management and reconciliations
- Preparing HMRC submissions and claims
- Supporting the administration of family and charitable trusts
- Liaising with beneficiaries, professional advisers, stockbrokers and other third parties
- Assisting with trust events, restructuring and beneficiary entitlement matters
- Ensuring compliance obligations are met accurately and efficiently
The portfolio offers exposure to a range of trust structures and complex client situations, providing the opportunity to develop and apply your technical knowledge in a supportive environment with highly skilled and experienced senior colleagues.
About You
We’re interested in speaking with experienced Trust professionals who have developed strong technical knowledge across trust accounting, taxation and administration. You are likely to have:
- Several years' experience working with trusts and estates
- Strong experience preparing trust accounts and tax returns
- Knowledge of CGT, IHT and trust taxation compliance
- The confidence to manage a portfolio of work with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
