Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project BIM strategy based on the clients' Information Requirements, including creating the post-contract BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and other required BIM requirements.
  • Assist in developing the project’s digital handover strategy with the client team.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry standards such as ISO 19650 series.
  • Accountable for the implementation and compliance with all Bovis safety requirements across staff, contractors, and work practices.
  • Provide leadership in establishing BIM and information management processes with project teams.
  • Manage the BIM and information management delivery in a timely manner to ensure maximum outcomes for the client and Bovis.
  • Implement Bovis’ digital strategy to effectively manage BIM and information management on projects.
  • Ensure quality is consistently high and proactively identify quality issues.
  • Review and assist commercial teams with costs and controls associated with BIM and information management strategy.
  • Build and maintain external relationships to increase networks and manage the performance and development of the project team through coaching and mentoring.
  • Coordinate with the planning team to ensure BIM and information deliverables are aligned with project programme milestone submission dates.
  • Work closely with the construction team to appoint consultants and subcontractors with appropriate BIM obligations.
  • Enforce project BIM strategy, 3D/BIM coordination workflows, and BEP across the project team.
  • Review and audit the project BIM at key milestone submission dates and prepare audit reports for project team leaders.
  • Chair internal and external BIM meetings as BIM Lead for the project.
  • Regularly report project BIM activities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and deliver appropriate visuals to team members to support their tasks.
  • Assess BIM training requirements and deliver necessary training.
  • Work closely with design teams to ensure Bovis needs are understood and incorporated.
  • Support health and safety efforts through model functionality.
  • Help optimise site logistics through the use of model information.
  • Identify potential design clashes between task teams and log them for tracking and resolution.
  • Link model quantities to cost plans and estimates.
  • Create and capture evidence of BIM values influencing commercial outcomes on the project.
  • Interface with the procurement team to package work scopes for inquiry.
  • Help create construction sequencing for the virtual build of the project.
  • Collaborate with the client’s asset management team to produce an Asset Information Model at handover.
  • Assist with delivering data requirements to achieve the client’s sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate with the project’s Information Manager to control and distribute project information.

Credentials

  • Professional Construction Qualifications relevant to the role (BSc or MSc in Project Management or Building/Construction Studies or Engineering).
  • Appropriate CSCS card for the role.
  • Have a related Chartership such as CIOB.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Behaviours

  • Skills: Ability to lead coordination between task teams, manage and mentor staff, communicate effectively, and develop trust-based relationships.
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of ISO 19650 series, construction industry standards, authoring and coordination platforms, and current construction laws and regulations.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, proven track record of digitally delivering successful construction projects, and experience dealing with clients and contractors.
  • Behaviours: Lead in the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) vision, demonstrate flexibility, strategic thinking, and eagerness to impact the local community positively.
