We are excited to announce that we are seeking a reliable and fully qualified Electrician to join our team in Ashford. The position involves varied work in all aspects of electrical installation, including industrial, domestic, commercial, agricultural, and solar PV. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 am. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience, ranging from £40k to £50k.
Job Duties
- Installations: Installing, modifying, and repairing electrical systems in domestic, commercial, or industrial buildings.
- Maintenance & Repair: The electrician would diagnose faults, repair broken circuits, and replace faulty electrical components quickly and safely.
- Testing & Certification: Perform Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and issue Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) upon completion of work.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects strictly adhere to current safety standards and legal regulations.
- Customer Service: Act as a professional representative of the company when working in clients’ homes, providing clear explanations of work required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 3 Electrical Diploma (or equivalent Apprenticeship) or Gold Card.
- Regulations: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and IPAF / PASMA (Desirable).
- Renewables: Experience in Solar PV installations and EV Charging Point installations. (Desirable)
- Testing: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) for inspection and testing (essential).
- Assessment: AM2 Qualification essential (essential).
- Experience: Proven experience (6 years) (Required).
- Licensing: Full UK Driving License (Required).
- Personal Traits: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and high attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge: electrical motors and control.
Job Location
The electrician would be working mobile, covering Ashford and Kingsnorth Kent areas.
Job Offer
- Perm 40 hours a week - starting at 7:30am.
- Company Pension.
- Uniform provided.
- Van is provided for work purposes, but is not available for your commute to and from the office.
- After training, must be able to commit to covering an on-call rota of 1 in 4 weekends (paid as extra).
