Job Purpose
Adams Foodservice is looking for an experienced, confident and customer-focused Telesales Operator. The role involves working through an allocated customer ring list, contacting existing customers by telephone to take delivery orders, accurately processing those orders and meeting delivery deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Work through the allocated daily customer ring list and take delivery orders by telephone.
- Enter orders accurately onto the company ordering system and meet processing cut-off times.
- Maintain regular customer contact and follow up on customers who have not placed their usual orders.
- Respond to enquiries about products, pricing and stock availability; offer suitable alternatives where appropriate.
- Liaise with warehouse, transport and other departments to resolve order-related queries.
- Maintain accurate customer records and escalated complaints or significant issues to the Head of SOP Team.
- Meet daily call completion and order processing targets and support the wider team as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Previous telesales experience is essential, including outbound telephone sales or calling customers to take orders.
- Foodservice experience is not required; applicants from other telesales sectors are welcome.
- Confident telephone manner and strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good computer skills, accurate data entry and the ability to learn ordering systems.
- Ability to organise a daily workload, meet deadlines and work towards performance targets.
- Proactive, reliable and comfortable working independently and within a team.
Performance Expectations
- Complete allocated customer ring lists within the required timescales.
- Maintain high order accuracy and ensure orders meet delivery deadlines.
- Follow up missed ordering opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Provide professional service and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Reporting & Working Pattern
Reports directly to Rakesh Kumar, Head of SOP Team. This is a 37.5-hour, five-day role working Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.
