About the role

We are a well-established specialist ground engineering and piling contractor delivering a wide range of foundation solutions across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our design team based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor environment, working on a variety of foundation and retaining structure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage NEC Contracts and JCT Contracts effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions with both clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project costs, revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance.
  • Manage and agree project variations, including change control procedures.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and finalise project accounts.
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
  • Produce monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports and commercial forecasts.
  • Prepare loss and expense claims, as well as documentation for dispute resolution when required.
  • Work closely with Estimating, Finance, and Contracts teams to ensure commercial objectives are met.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project performance and identify potential commercial risks.
  • Support the mentoring and development of junior Quantity Surveyors where appropriate.
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand contractual obligations and associated commercial risks.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work autonomously.
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience with commercial and project costing software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
