Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP), West Yorkshire.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join a leading Engineering team, playing a central role in the commercial delivery of major construction projects.

This position is ideal for an established MEP commercial professional who thrives on ownership, accountability and delivering high‑performing project outcomes.

You’ll take charge of the commercial management of either a flagship project or a portfolio of smaller schemes, ensuring strong financial performance while proactively managing commercial and contractual risk.

Working closely with operational and project teams, you’ll oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, change management and final accounts, while supporting and developing junior commercial / Quantity surveyor colleagues.

Key responsibilities,

  • Lead the commercial management of MEP packages, ensuring profitability, contractual compliance and effective risk management.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, applications, valuations, payments, final accounts and cash collection.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to monitor contract performance, manage change, resolve commercial issues and support dispute avoidance.
  • Produce accurate commercial reports, forecasts and cost analysis to support business performance and decision‑making.
  • Mentor and develop junior commercial team members, promoting best practice and professional growth.
  • What you’ll need to succeed,

You will be an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record of delivering the commercial aspects of live construction projects. You bring:

  • Extensive experience within the MEP sector, including procurement and final account negotiation.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract, including Target Cost projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify, assess and manage project risk.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing commercial teams.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent). Professional membership is desirable.
