Quantity Surveyor sought, Plymouth / Exeter. Large project exposure and NEC contract knowledge would be advantageous. This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a progressive business offering stability and ample amounts of onward growth. A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK engineering and services business, supporting the commercial delivery of major, complex projects. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust financial management, strong contractual compliance and clear commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a safety-first approach across all commercial activities
- Ensure full compliance with legal, contractual and company processes
- Interpret and manage contract terms, risks and opportunities to maximise commercial outcomes
- Maintain accurate records to protect contractual entitlements
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure clarity on risk, progress and commercial status
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, including substantiation of variations and compensation events
- Manage subcontract accounts through to final account settlement (with support where required)
- Monitor project progress and provide accurate internal commercial reporting
- Ensure timely delivery of project reports, applications, certificates and payments
- Support negotiations to agree final account with the client
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working on large-scale construction or engineering projects
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in change management and subcontract administration
- Good working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contracts
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills
