We are excited to be recruiting for a Named Veterinary Surgeon on behalf of our client. Are you a skilled veterinary surgeon looking for your new rewarding opportunity? Join a team of passionate staff, where you can make a significant impact on animal health and welfare while expanding your veterinary expertise beyond traditional practice. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Named Veterinary Surgeon(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines Develop and maintain expertise in laboratory animal science and related disciplines through ongoing education and training Provide veterinary cover for animal units and clinical services at the facilities Support the implementation of new techniques, procedures, and technologies to enhance animal care and welfare Engage with stakeholders to promote a culture of care and professionalism within the company Provide advice and assistance to staff on the implementation of the three Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) principles Deputise for senior veterinary staff as needed and support staff training and development Comply with regulatory, quality, and health and safety procedures, including maintaining records and obtaining necessary accreditations Job Requirements: Veterinary degree with professional registration with the RCVS Experience in general practice or laboratory animal care, including surgical skills Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with research teams and provide training or guidance on animal welfare standards and procedures Proficiency in surgical procedures and anaesthesia Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to evolving challenges
