Kier BAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall.
We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Technical Assurance Manager.
The Technical Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the technical quality, compliance, and integrity of projects, products, or services.
This role manages technical audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes to mitigate risks and uphold industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Making Possible
In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Lead and manage technical assurance activities across projects or operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain technical assurance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct technical audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Assess technical risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, safety, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Manage and monitor the Non-conformance process
- Trend data from corrective actions and ensure closure of non-conformances.
- Have an oversite of concrete management and materials management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to technical quality and assurance.
- Prepare and present technical assurance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Provide training and guidance on NCRs, technical assurance processes and best practices.

What do you bring to the role?
- Academic Qualifications - Civil Engineering, Quality, Construction related Qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
- Proven experience in technical assurance, quality assurance, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the sector.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience conducting audits and managing compliance activities.
- Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across functions.
- Proficiency with technical documentation and assurance tools.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trained.
- CSCS Card – White / Managers.
Desirable
- Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent.
- Experience in sectors like construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or aerospace.
- Familiarity with risk management and continuous improvement methodologies.
