SALARY: £56,000 to £62,053 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid working partly from the office in Ealing (W5), from home and in the field
JOB TYPE: 6 Month Fixed Term, Full-Time Contract
WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week - Monday to Friday
JOB OVERVIEW
The organisation has a fantastic new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to play a key role in shaping the future delivery of Supported Services. Working on a 6-month fixed term contract, the Business Development Manager will lead the development of strategic business cases to improve financial sustainability and support the expansion of housing support services. As the Business Development Manager, you will identify sustainable growth opportunities, explore external funding routes and produce evidence-based recommendations that support senior decision-making. This is a varied role where you will analyse performance data, customer needs, market gaps and financial information, while working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to co-design practical, sustainable solutions.
DUTIES
- Develop Business Cases: Prepare comprehensive business cases for improving financial viability and expanding housing support services, including scope, financial modelling, risks, benefits and delivery options analysis
- Analyse Data and Insight: Review service performance, financial performance, customer needs and market gaps to inform strategic recommendations
- Identify Funding Opportunities: Research, identify and assess a pipeline of external funding opportunities, including local authorities, health partners, suppliers, grants and government programmes
- Produce Reports and Recommendations: Create clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations for senior leaders, executive teams and board-level decision-making
- Conduct Market Research: Carry out benchmarking, horizon scanning and research to identify sector trends, best practice and opportunities for service improvement
- Build Stakeholder Relationships: Develop strong internal and external relationships to support co-designed proposals and practical service development
- Facilitate Workshops: Lead workshops and engagement sessions to test ideas, shape proposals and turn innovative thinking into deliverable solutions
- Deliver Key Outputs: Produce business case documentation, funding strategy and an implementation roadmap within agreed programme timeframes
- Maintain Data Quality: Ensure the data used within analysis and modelling is accurate, robust and compliant with governance standards
- Support Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in service design, delivery and long-term sustainability
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in business planning, service development or project delivery
- Knowledge of the housing, supported housing or social care sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret data and produce clear, practical insights
- Experience of financial modelling and business case development
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English, Grades A* to C
- Degree or relevant professional qualification
DESIRABLE
- Understanding of funding landscapes and commissioning processes
- Project management capability
