Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power company in the UK to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) site in Kent.
The Mechanical Engineer comes with a salary up to £65,000 + private medical + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Engineer role Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader you will: Carry out preplanned and reactive maintenance on site, working on equipment including but not limited to conveyors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, fans, boilers etc.
Scheduling, planning and optimising all mechanical maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner including shutdowns / outages.
Supervising and directing contractors as required.
Work closely with the operational department to assess and review plant performances and support returning plant to service.
Experience with long-term outage planning and contract spec writing would be hugely beneficial.
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
A minimum or a HNC, or preferably HND in Mechanical Engineering At least 3 years' experience in a maintenance environment in a heavy industrial environment (power station, refinery, petrochemical etc)A broad understanding of power station operations, specifically Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT).
Ideally hold an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
Personal Skills The Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who is: Able to work well in a team or individually.
Has planning and organisational skills, to prioritise jobs and manage resources.
Salary and benefits of the Mechanical Engineer role Starting Salary of up to £65,000Benefits package including private medical insurance and 12% pension contributions.
External training for staff that includes funding further qualifications (HND, degree etc).
