Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Core Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available network environments across multiple regions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking (ideally Nexus), Fortigate firewalls, with knowledge of Netgate pfSense a plus. Familiarity with networking configuration of Enterprise virtualization platforms, such as VMware/Hyper‑V and Nutanix is preferred, and the candidate would be comfortable collaborating remotely with distributed teams across time zones. The candidate will also be required to participate in the departments on‑call out‑of‑hours rota. The role is not normally customer facing, however the ability to pick up issues and work with customer technical teams through to completion is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑grade network infrastructure across global environments
- Support and optimize Cisco‑based networks, including routing, switching, and data center technologies.
- Configure and manage Fortigate firewalls, including VPNs, security policies, and traffic inspection
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
- Collaborate with other infrastructure teams (client networking and virtualization) to support infrastructure projects and support issues.
- Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call rota, providing operational support and incident response outside of standard business hours
- Provide networking expertise for virtualization platforms, including: VMware vSphere/ESXi/Microsoft Hyper‑V/Nutanix
- Participate in network architecture reviews, capacity planning, and performance tuning
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures
- Support change management, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Work effectively as part of a global, remote team, including occasional out‑of‑hours support if required.
