As an Individual Giving Assistant, you'll play an important part in making this possible.

Working within our ambitious and supportive Fundraising Team, you'll help deliver a diverse range of fundraising activities, including In Memory Giving, Legacies, Regular Giving, Appeals, and the Ashgate Hospice Lottery. You'll work closely with donors, families, volunteers, and colleagues across the hospice, helping ensure every supporter feels valued and connected to the impact of their gift.

As an Individual Giving Assistant, you'll help shape supporter journeys, contribute to fundraising campaigns, analyse performance, and support activities designed to attract, engage, and retain donors. Your work will directly contribute to raising the vital funds needed to support the care and services that Ashgate Hospice provides every day.

If you're enthusiastic, organised, and want to be part of a team that makes a real difference in the local community, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role: Ashgate Hospice is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. This means we are committed to inclusive hiring and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

  • Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday, with the requirement for occasional evening and weekend work where time in lieu will be given.

As an Individual Giving Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering fundraising activities that help ensure Ashgate Hospice can continue providing outstanding care to local patients and families. You'll be part of a friendly and ambitious team, helping bring fundraising campaigns to life and creating meaningful experiences for our supporters.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Support the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns, including our Spring and Winter Remembrance Appeals and Christmas Appeal, helping to inspire supporters to make a difference while working towards agreed income targets.
  • Help deliver exceptional supporter care, ensuring that everyone who responds to our campaigns receives a warm, timely, and meaningful thank you, helping to build long-term relationships with the hospice.
  • Support our In Memory and Legacy fundraising activities, working alongside the Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer and In Memory Fundraiser to thank and steward supporters who give through Tribute Funds, Tree of Life donations, and gifts in Wills.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the supporter journey, helping us continually improve how we communicate with donors and create engaging experiences that encourage ongoing support for Ashgate Hospice.
  • Be a key point of contact for supporters, responding to enquiries by telephone, email, and face-to-face in our Fundraising Hubs, providing a friendly, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in fundraising, marketing, customer service, relationship management, and campaign delivery while being part of a team whose work directly supports hospice care across North Derbyshire. Every conversation you have, every donation you process, and every supporter you thank will help make a difference to people facing some of the most challenging times of their lives.

What you’ll bring: Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and excited by the opportunity to make a real difference in their local community.
  • You'll be a great fit if you enjoy building relationships, have excellent attention to detail, and are confident communicating with a wide range of people.
  • We'd love to hear from candidates with experience in fundraising, supporter engagement, customer service, administration, or a similar people-focused environment.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using databases or CRM systems will help you succeed, alongside a willingness to learn and develop new skills within a busy fundraising team.
  • Most importantly, you'll be someone who embodies Ashgate Hospice's values—compassionate, respectful, inclusive, open, and collaborative.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career within the charity sector, gain experience across a wide range of fundraising activities, and be part of a friendly team whose work has a direct impact on the lives of people across North Derbyshire.

A flexible approach is important, as there will be opportunities to support events and activities across the region, meet supporters, and experience first-hand the incredible community that makes Ashgate Hospice possible.
