Join us as a Digital Skills Volunteer and make a real difference. In this rewarding role, you’ll support our staff and volunteers to build confidence using everyday digital tools like Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel, providing friendly one-to-one guidance and troubleshooting. With flexible 3 to 4 hour shifts, full training, and expenses covered, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own skills while empowering others in a supportive hospice environment. What You’ll Be Doing
- One-to-one support for staff or volunteers, helping them build confidence using Office 365 applications.
- In-person guidance and troubleshooting to resolve issues and answer digital skills queries.
- A welcoming and inclusive learning environment where individuals feel comfortable asking questions and developing new skills.
- Collaborative support alongside the Learning & Organisational Development team, using digital training to boost creativity and help colleagues work more efficiently and effectively.
Who We’re Looking For
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
- Communicate clearly and build strong relationships, with the ability to explain complex information in a friendly and accessible way.
- Show patience and curiosity when supporting individuals who may be less confident with technology.
- Bring a passion for learning and a genuine desire to help others develop their digital skills.
- Offer experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring. This is beneficial but not essential.
Can offer one morning or afternoon per week (a few hours still make a big difference!)

Important Information
- Volunteers must be aged 16 or over.
- All volunteers are required to complete: Volunteer Statutory Training (3 hours) and Ashgate Hospice Volunteer Induction (3 hours).
- Local role-specific training will be provided.
- Confidentiality around patient and hospice information is essential.
- This role will require a standard DBS to be completed.
